Teresa Chen's photographic work revolves around questions of origin and identity – themes that are closely connected to her personal background. As an American living in Switzerland, whose parents immigrated from China to the USA, Teresa never had the security of a traditional, rooted identity. This incertitude is mirrored in the fragmentary pictures of her body that oscillate between sensuality and revulsion, attraction and aversion.
