Illusive II

The work Illusive II is a continuation of the series Illusive (2022), but modified as a site-specific work for the land art exhibition Moorart 24 in Park Seleger Moor. The three photographs of native insects from Switzerland are pinned to close-ups of characteristic flowers and are located at various sites in Park Seleger Moor, Rifferswil, Switzerland.

As the title suggests, the pictures of insects sitting on flowers or flying past them are deceptive and illusory. Closer inspection reveals that the insects have been prepared and pinned onto a picture of a flower, not onto the flower itself.

The juxtaposition of artificial image and natural landscape encourages reflection on nature and its transience.
